A wish for long life, health and wellness
Ayubowan (pronounced Ah-yoo-boh-wan) ππ½Β
Ayubowan Wellness began with four things close to my heart: my Sri Lankan heritage, a lifelong appreciation for nature, my family's healing journey, and a belief that wellness belongs in everyday life.
Growing up in Sri Lanka, I was surrounded by traditions that embraced natural approaches to well-being, where warmth, rest, mindfulness, and caring for one another were part of daily life. Those values stayed with me long after I made Michigan my home.
My curiosity about the natural world led me to pursue a PhD in Natural Product Chemistry, where I spent years researching the bioactive properties of plant materials and isolating novel compounds from Sri Lankan tree species, including endemic species. That experience deepened my appreciation for the remarkable qualities found in nature and continues to influence the intentional way I select the materials used in every Ayubowan wrap.
Years later, a loved one's recovery following a life-altering limb surgery introduced our family to the comforting role of heat therapy during physical rehabilitation. As I handcrafted wraps to support their recovery, I soon found myself reaching for them as wellβfor sore shoulders after long days, moments of stress, and the simple comfort of slowing down.
That experience became the beginning of Ayubowan Wellness.
Today, my daily wellness practices, including yoga, mindfulness, and creating intentional moments of rest, continue to inspire this journey. I believe wellness doesn't have to be complicated or reserved for luxury experiences. Sometimes it begins with something as simple as taking a few quiet moments, wrapping yourself in warmth, and allowing yourself to pause.
Every Ayubowan body wrap is thoughtfully handcrafted using natural materials and quality fabricsβnot simply as a product, but as an invitation to embrace rest, recovery, and everyday self-care.
The name Ayubowan is a traditional Sri Lankan greeting that wishes someone long life, health, and well-being.
That wish is at the heart of everything I create.

Every Ayubowan wrap is handmade using carefully selected cotton or linen fabrics that are soft, durable, and comfortable against the skin.
Every wrap is individually cut, sewn, filled, and finished by hand in Michigan's Capital Region. Because each piece is handmade, slight variations make every wrap unique.
Filling
At Ayubowan, we believe that what goes inside our body wraps is just as important as the care that goes into making them. Each wrap is thoughtfully handcrafted using natural materials selected for comfort, warmth, flexibility, and quality.
Rice provides gentle, consistent warmth and helps the wrap comfortably conform to your body. It has long been used in reusable heating pads because it heats evenly and retains warmth well.
Flaxseed helps the wrap remain soft and flexible while providing soothing, moist warmth when heated. Its small seeds allow the wrap to naturally contour to different areas of the body for a comfortable fit.
Select wraps are infused with dried botanicals and their natural essential oils to create a calming sensory experience.
Available scents may include:
Lavender
Chamomile
Rose
Mint
Tangerine
Chai
Unscented
Each botanical blend is chosen to complement moments of rest, relaxation, and self-care.
